Berlin

Berlin is about 250 km far from Wolfenbüttel, you can go by car, train and also Bus (departure from Braunschweig).

Berlin is the capital of Germany and a very visited city. She attracts particularly "clubbers" due to her huge evenings in night club. But we don't forget that most of the tourists who come to visit Berlin, come to visit her old monuments which crossed through the war.

Présentation of monuments:

Reichstag. Italian Renaissance style building gets a dome at its top, 75m high. The building was renovated between 1961 and 1973, but not the dome.

Memorial to 96 deputies of Left and Center political side eliminated by Nazis in 1933.

Checkpoint Charlie. After the third Reich was fallen in 1945, Germany became an occupied country and cut in two part: the East part under Soviet control became GDR, whereas the West part under britanique, French and American control became FRG. There were three control points: Alpha, Bravo and Charlie. Checkpoint Charlie separated Berlin West of Berlin East.

Berlin Wall. It was created in Berlin during the night from 12 to 13 August 1961. The wall separates West Berlin to East Berlin. It is the symbol of the cold war and the partition of Germany during more than 30 years. It was set up to stop the exodus of the population from East Germany to West Germany, because GDR underwent an economic and social crises because of the population who left the east lands.

Berliner Dom. The emperor Guillaume II wanted for the Lutheran church a cathedral deserving of the greatness of the imperial capital. The cathedral is 114 metres long, 73 metres wide and 85 metres high. It was build between 1894 and 1905. The style of the building is high Italian Renaissance.

Brandebourg door. It is situated in the West entry of old Berlin and is a symbol of the city. The statue above the door represents four horses which drag the quadriga (chariot) of the goddess of victory. This statue was realized with copper. In 1806, Napoleon wants to bring it in Paris but he loses the power and the statue returns to Berlin where the quadriga is decorated with a new symbol of power: the Prussian eagle.
Brandenburg door is represented on German's coins of 10, 20 and 50 cents like a symbol of the unity because it is at this door where the wall of Berlin was opened for the first time, the 22sd of September in 1989.

Some diversities:

Berlin is also a city which gets many big shop, big exposition, divers dealers...etc....

You can see the most expensive car of the world: Bugatti Veyron which costs 1 100 000€ (without fees). Motor V16, 1001 horsepower, max speed 407km/h and an original design, you can see this car in Berlin and many tourists come to see it because it's amazing and attractive. You can see it in the Bugatti store.

You can see very nice barouche carriage in the city. Barouche carriage make the turn of the city and you can see many building on it without effort. You can take it at the Brandebourg door.

I don't know the name , but you can call it "a big bike". It's the same function of the barouche carriage but it's funnier and more tiring. By the way, you can visit Berlin renting bicycle (normal) for cheap.

In berlin, you have many great shops like Hugo Boss, Galeries Lafayettes, Dior...and big dealers like Bentley, Bugatti Volkswagen, Peugeot, Porsche...

Les sorties nocturnes :

Berlin is famous for her night clubs cheap and where there is a great atmosphere. There are more hundred night clubs, so don't be shy and try them all !!!

We give you a list, with the best you can find (following the point of view from the persons we met) in Berlin:

Felix, Q-dorf, Vegas, H2O, Berghain, Big Eden, Connection Disco, Havanna, Kit Kat Klub.

Unfortunately, we couldn't try them all in one night but I invite you to go to Felix.

We went to Q-Dorf, entrance costs 5 euros, there are 4 rooms and you can find inside: a snack, a karaoke, a hip hop room, a show room (stip-tease in at the occasion) and house/electro room. Nice atmosphere (except some fighting which happened).
